Oregon Lottery Scoreboard Review

The Oregon Lottery launched Scoreboard, the lottery's online sportsbook, on October 17th, 2019. Residents of Oregon can bet on their mobile device or computer anywhere in state lines, except for on tribal grounds. Currently, Scoreboard is the only sports betting app in the state. While tribal casinos can offer sports betting at their casinos, they will have to meet with the state before being allowed to provide a mobile app.

Top Takeaways for 2020

After spending six months testing thirty online sportsbooks, here are our top findings on Oregon Lottery Scoreboard:

  • Scoreboard is the first state-sponsored sportsbook and will likely be a model for future states.
  • Oregon Lottery Scoreboard does not offer bets on college teams because of concerns from university officials. Oregon will revisit offering bets on college teams down the road.
  • Oregon Lottery Scoreboard offers a wide variety of prop bets and international games.
  • First-time bettors will feel comfortable using Scoreboard due to its educational content, as well as overall ease of use.
  • Live betting is excellent, offering a ton of cool features, statistics, and bets.

Overall Summary

Oregon Lottery Scoreboard is a high-quality sportsbook, offering a variety of sports, bets, and live bets to choose from. Both the mobile app and desktop version are exceptional, offering Oregon residents pre-game statistics, betting education, and a great product.

Is Oregon Lottery Scoreboard Safe?

help 82
Trust Score

Oregon Lottery Scoreboard is considered low-risk, with an overall Trust Score of 82 of 99. Oregon Lottery Scoreboard is a legal online sportsbook available to anyone in Oregon state lines. Trust Score is determined by a number of factors, such as years in business, legal status, and global footprint, amongst others.

Bets Offered

Overview - Scoreboard sportsbook offers a ton of alternative lines and spreads, as well as parlays, teasers, handicaps, and more. If you want to bet on who will win the game or the total number of points score, Scoreboard has that too!

Props - A big range of team props is available. Team props include bets such as "which team will score first." A few player prop bets are available, such as "Over/under how many yards will Patrick Mahomes throw?" Oregon bettors can rest assured knowing they have a ton of betting options to choose from.

Bet-Back Feature - The bet-back feature allows you to secure a profit or minimize a loss before the game ends. You do this by selling your open bet back to the sportsbook before the game ends. For example, let's say you bet $5 on the Patriots to beat the Broncos at even odds. At halftime, New England is winning 24-0. The sportsbook might offer you $3.75 for your ticket, allowing you to win some money before the game ends.

Banking Options and Fees

Deposit Methods - Because Oregon Lottery Scoreboard just launched, its only banking option is currently a Play+ account. I will check back in a few months and comment on what additional methods are available. A Play+ card will allow you to make deposits and withdrawals at multiple casinos/sportsbooks in the U.S. You are also able to access funds at ATMs or make purchases anywhere Discover is accepted.

Withdrawal Methods - Withdrawals are only available with a Play+ account at the moment.

Sports Offered

Oregon Lottery Scoreboard offers sixteen sports, an impressive number for a new sportsbook. Unfortunately, college sports are not offered. University officials in Oregon were concerned with college betting, so the Oregon Lottery decided not to offer college sports initially. Residents of Oregon will have to bet at a casino to bet on college teams. International leagues are available for soccer, basketball, and hockey.

Live Betting

Scoreboard sportsbook offers an impressive live betting menu. A ton of prop bets are available, as well as snap bets. Snap bets are bets that deal with the next play of a sporting event. Examples of snap bets are the next point or game in a tennis match, the next five minutes of a soccer game, or the result of the next drive in a football game. Snap bets are fun and meant for bettors who are watching the game in real-time.

Scoreboard sportsbook also offers live statistics, a live match tracker, and post-game results. The live match tracker is a cool feature that allows bettors to get a feel for a game they might not be watching at the moment.

Customer Service

Oregon Lottery Scoreboard offers 24/7 live chat, 24/7 phone support, and email responses within 24 hours. My experience with Scoreboard customer service was exceptional. My questions were consistently met with detailed answers.

Mobile Betting

Aside from users experiencing difficulties signing up on launch day, the Oregon Lottery Scoreboard mobile sports betting app is fantastic. It is rare that a mobile app functions so well within the first few days of launching. The Scoreboard app is easy to use; everything is setup with the end-user in mind. Adding bets, live betting, and looking through pre-game statistics is an excellent experience. Both the web-based sportsbook and the mobile app are winners, plain and simple.

Education - Scoreboard sportsbook offers decent educational content that explains how to bet, what different betting types are, and how to understand odds. Most first-time bettors should have a good understanding of the basics from what Scoreboard sportsbook offers.

Statistics - Pre-game statistics are provided for each game by SportRadar, a global data company that focuses on sports betting. Examples of statistics include head-to-head matchup history, current standings, and betting trends, amongst others.

Scoreboard runs through The Oregon Lottery, which is the lottery's first entry into online sales. It will be interesting to see how the lottery manages the sportsbook. For instance, will it ban sharps at a higher or lower rate than other sportsbooks? Will it accept million-dollar bets? Because the practice of a lottery running a sportsbook is new, I'm not 100% sure what to make of it. That being said, I would feel safe betting my money with Scoreboard if I lived in Oregon.

Other Notes

Scoreboard sportsbook does not currently offer any promotions but is looking to add some in the upcoming months. Typical sportsbook promotions include risk-free bets or deposit matches.

Final Thoughts

Oregon Lottery Scoreboard is the only online sportsbook in Oregon for the time being. Thankfully the sportsbook is a well-balanced offering. Tons of bets and live bets are available, in addition to a wide selection of sports and international leagues to bet. While not having college sports is a big drawback, it is not the fault of the sportsbook.
