While MyBookie’s large withdrawal fees and expensive odds can serve as a roadblock to some, the 24/7 customer support, mobile ease of use, and number of offerings give individuals seeking offshore sportsbooks a reason to get behind the wheel.

BettingBuck.com always recommends betting with a US regulated sportsbook over an offshore sportsbook. Offshore sportsbooks are not legal, not regulated by a US governing body, and often not regulated at all. If you live in New Jersey check out our Best New Jersey Sportsbooks.

MyBookie was founded in 2012 with one mantra: faster payouts and better customer service. Since then, they have bolstered a smooth and seemingly  youthful website interface that services over 100,000 active customers.

Sports Offered

MyBookie offered 19 different sports at the time of this review, ranging from traditional offerings, such as football and basketball, to obscure offerings, such as entertainment, politics, and BIG 3 Basketball. Betting on the next actor to be cast as “James Bond” was pretty exciting, even though my pick of Andrew Lincoln was a shot in the dark.

Trust Score

MyBookie is considered high-risk, with an overall Trust Score of 46 of 99. MyBookie is an offshore sportsbook that accepts U.S. residents as clients, which is considered illegal in the eyes of the U.S. Because MyBookie is an offshore sportsbook, there is no protection of client funds if the company were to go bankrupt or mistreat clients. Trust Score is determined by several factors, such as years in business, legal status, and global footprint, amongst others.

While the number of sports offered is good, the number of leagues offered for each sport is just alright. Compared to other popular sportsbooks, such as Bovada and BetOnline.ag, MyBookie offers fewer international games for sports like basketball, where games are played almost daily in various global leagues. Overall, these offerings are great for the casual US bettor but might encounter some scrutiny from professional gamblers who enjoy international markets.

Bets Offered

MyBookie does a great job of offering bettors a variety of options. They're even open to customers requesting bet types they don't currently accept.

MyBookie offers traditional spread, moneyline, and total bets in addition to futures, teasers, action points, round robins, if bets, and parlay bets. The website also states that if there is a bet type they don’t currently accept, they are open to users requesting it. Aside from traditional bets, MyBookie offers a player props builder that gives bettors a way to build custom bets based on individual player performance.

A standard selection of traditional team bets is offered. Aside from typical spread, moneyline, and total bets, MyBookie offers a range of bets, depending on the sport. Soccer, NBA, and NFL games all offer around 30-70 additional bets, with a good variety of player and team props. MLB and NHL games offer an additional 5-40 bets, with a decent variety.

Player Props

MyBookie recently introduced their props builder menu, which allows bettors to create and customize their own wagers based on individual player performance. It is worth noting that this same menu is offered on BetOnline.ag and 5Dimes with the exact same odds, meaning all three sites pay for the software from a third party.

This innovative menu offers action on how many hits a baseball player will have, how many passes a soccer player will record, and much more. MyBookie describes the available bet types this menu offers as follows:

  • Statistic: A bet on a single player or two players combined to achieve a specific statistical performance. E.g. LeBron James to score 30 or more points against the Warriors. Or Brady and Brees to throw for over 600 combined passing yards.
  • H2H: A head-to-head bet is where you select one player to outperform another for a selected statistic. E.g. Messi to have more shots on goal than Ronaldo.
  • Trios: Similar to a horse racing trifecta bet where you select the 3 players to finish in the exact order from highest to lowest for a selected statistic.

Regardless of the menu being the same, the customization it offers to bettors is impressive. After I placed a wager on Lionel Messi to score at least one goal versus Croatia in the World Cup, watching the game was naturally more exciting.

In addition to the traditional bets and props builder, MyBookie offers special contests depending on what sports are in season. For the World Cup, MyBookie set up a bracket challenge similar to that of March madness. For $10 gamblers were able to enter a bracket that awarded points for each correct prediction they had throughout the World Cup. These contests offer bettors a fun way to lay down some action from the norm.

Min/Max Bets

MyBookie has two tiers for how much bettors can wager on a single game. While their website says the minimum online wager is $2, I was able to bet $1 multiple times.

Wager Limits
Wager limits for online and over-the-phone bets.

These limits are phenomenal since there are technically “no limits.” That being said, professional gamblers will be annoyed having to call anytime they want to place a wager over $1,000.

MyBookie finished in 10th place in our 2019 odds rankings, offering below average odds.

MyBookie finished in 10th place (out of 17) in our 2019 odds rankings, offering below average odds for the most popular sports and leagues. Most of their total and spread odds follow the industry average, while moneyline odds trail the industry.

MyBookie top odds: NCAAF moneyline odds (8th), NCAAB moneyline odds (8th)

MyBookie worst odds: NFL moneyline odds (11th), MLB monryline odds (12th), NHL moneyline odds (12th),

Ranking Process- For this review, odds testing data spanning the NFL, NCAAF, NBA, NCAAB, MLB, NHL, and top soccer leagues was collected. Odds data measures over 1,400 games across nine offshore sportsbooks and eight US regulated sportsbooks. Moneyline, spread, and total bets were analyzed and weighted to comprise a 2019 ranking for each league, with moneyline bets typically receiving over 50% of the weighting.

There are 16-17 sportsbooks ranked for each league, except the MLB, where only 13 sportsbooks were ranked. This is due to some US regulated sportsbooks rolling out after the MLB season concluded.

Banking Options and Fees

Bottom line, MyBookie charges high withdrawal fees for anyone who does not use cryptocurrency.

When I made my initial deposit I had to contact customer support to verify the deposit before it was posted to my account. The live chat was available and offered high-quality support to ensure the deposit went through.

Deposit Fees

The following table depicts MyBookie’s deposit options and fees, although to proceed with eCheck and wire transfer, you must call customer support or connect with live chat.

No Cryptocurrency Deposit Fees Yes

Withdrawal Fees

MyBookie allows withdrawals to be made via bitcoin, eCheck, and wire transfer. Although MyBookie brands itself as having some of the fastest payouts in the industry, it provides only average withdrawal speeds, at best.

Furthermore, while some sportsbooks do not require any rollover on deposited funds, MyBookie requires a 1X rollover before a request is made to withdraw any funds, aside from those deposited via bitcoin.

Total Withdrawal Methods3

Bottom line, MyBookie charges high withdrawal fees for anyone who does not use cryptocurrency. These fees can be a huge deal breaker, depending on how much you want to hold in your account.

Live Betting

MyBookie offers live betting for baseball, basketball, soccer, football, hockey, and tennis. MyBookie recently got rid of their live betting menu. They replaced the previously separate menu with a bland display of live bets on the current bet menu. The previous display offered a matchup tracker, the ability to view multiple games, and more. The new display is a visual drawback.

Mybookie's live betting menu looks the same as normal bets.

Mobile Betting

For the mobile section of this review, I used my iPhone 7 and iPad to test. The only lost functionality I experienced on these devices was live betting. Live betting on a mobile device only allowed me to bet all available live bets for one game at a time, as opposed to the desktop version that displays spread, moneyline, and total bets for multiple games. Aside from that, the transition from desktop to mobile was smooth.

Surprisingly, according to several employees, MyBookie does not have any plans for a mobile app at the moment.

Customer Service

MyBookie offers live chat, email, and phone customer service 24/7. They will even call you if you do not want to wait or dial through to a specific department, which is a unique feature and a benefit customers will certainly appreciate.

Customer Service Call

All of the customer support I received was really helpful. Employees were knowledgeable and quick to respond, offering some of the best customer service I’ve experienced from a sportsbook.

Of the ten customer service tests I ran, only once was an employee unable to fully answer my questions. I asked about an app on the iTunes Store that seemed like a fake affiliation to MyBookie. The employee said it was a demo version in which players could use fake money. When I asked a different employee the same question, she told me there was no affiliation and I should not download the app, which made much more sense.

Education and Research

MyBookie offers limited education that is a challenge to navigate. Their sports-betting glossary is not easily accessible. While they offer a news section that previews upcoming series and games, it is seemingly hidden on their website. In this section, there are sub-categories that provide useful tips for beginners to bet on sports such as football.

Explanations of betting types are offered, but the link to get to this page is available only when players are not logged into accounts. Ultimately, the education on this site is average and painful to navigate.

MyBookie is an offshore sportsbook, meaning it is illegal in the eyes of the US government. BettingBuck.com always recommends betting with a US regulated sportsbook over an offshore sportsbook. If you live in New Jersey check out our Best New Jersey Sportsbooks

MyBookie initially did not accept professional gamblers. They had a disclosure on their website for years stating, “MyBookie is a world class online sportsbook that caters specifically to recreational gamblers. We do not accept wagers from professional bettors, sharp side movers, syndicate or propositional players. MYB reserves the right to deny action or payments at any time. If any of these activities occur, then all plays will be void and the original funds will be sent back to the player.” This statement is no longer on the website, but the fact that you have to call anytime you want to place a bet over $1,000 leads me to believe professional gamblers still may not be as welcome as recreational gamblers.

There have also been a few reports stating that former BetOnSports managers are working at MyBookie. This raises some concern, since BetOnSports had a poor reputation and experienced frequent forum complaints about not paying players, although they claimed otherwise. That said, these individuals may be credible, just associated with a bad book.

Aside from these two observations, MyBookie has a positive reputation.

Other Notes

MyBookie’s sportsbook offers ongoing bonuses for creating an account, depositing certain forms of currency or referring an account. At the time of this review, the following promotions were active with their own set of rules.

Bonus Terms

MyBookie also offers an array of additional bonuses centered on helping bettors who are on losing streaks. For example, if you lose 10 bets of $25 or more in a row, MyBookie will give you $25 with a 1X rollover to “snap your skid.” They also offer a Superman bonus that doubles your winnings if you successfully go 16-0 with $20 minimum bets in NFL spreads. Most of these bonuses are unlikely to be obtained, but still offer a fun twist to the traditional bonuses.

Final Thoughts

At the end of the day, MyBookie offers excellent customer service, a quality mobile experience (despite not having a formal app), and a variety of sports, bet types, and bets.

MyBookie's solid foundation should allow them to remain an active player in the offshore sports betting marketplace.
