Is BetRivers Safe?
BetRivers is considered low-risk, with an overall Trust Score of 93 of 99. BetRivers is a legal online sportsbook available to anyone in Pennsylvania and Indiana state lines. Trust Score is determined by a number of factors, such as years in business, legal status, and global footprint, amongst others.
BetRivers offers a ton of different bets. Bettors can lay action on everything from alternative spreads, to how many points LeBron James scores, to how many touchdowns the Patriots will score in their next game. Typically, each NFL, NBA, and Soccer game has over 100 total bets available to wager on. MLB and NHL games offer at least 50 bets a game. The variety of team and player props is exciting.
BetRivers lists most bets and props days before the game is played, which is not typical for most sportsbooks. The way BetRivers categorizes bets is simple and efficient, providing great user experience.
Two cool features BetRivers offers are pre-game statistics and the early cash-out feature. Pre-game statistics provide a matchup preview with head to head details. The early cash-out feature allows you to amend your original bet and lock in a profit or a loss by settling your bet (or a portion of your bet) early, without having to wait for the event to finish.
The odds data below was gathered over the course of several months and contained over 10,000 data points. Data from 21 total sportsbooks were collected for NBA, Soccer, and NHL games, 17 for NFL games, 18 for NCAA games, and 16 for MLB games.

BetRivers currently allows bettors to lay action on 18 sports, which is impressive for a new sportsbook (FanDuel and DraftKings offer fewer than 15). Some sports, such as volleyball, may not be offered year-round, but are offered at some point in the year. Below is a table of all sports BetRivers offers.
|Total Sports Offered||18|
|Aussie Rules (AFL)||Yes|
The BetRivers live betting menu is impressive, offering users scores, statistics, and a range of bets. The tennis menu even offers instant betting, which allows users to bet on each point in real time. The overall display is clean and easily navigable, providing a great live betting experience.
Another cool feature BetRivers offers is a match tracker, for live betting sports such as football, basketball, hockey, and soccer. The match tracker has a live clock, displays the score by quarter, and even shows which team is attacking in real-time. For NFL games, the match tracker even lists the last play, the total plays, and yards on the drive, and the down and distance.
The mobile app BetRivers offers, available on all Android and iPhone phones, is excellent. Navigating through different sports and betting types is simple, and having a constant live chat bubble available is convenient. I didn’t experience any lag or design flaws when testing on my iPhone 7 and iPad. My only complaint with the app is that when users select the help center, they are redirected to BetRivers' website, instead of having something dedicated in-app. The BetRivers app will be the exact same once it finally rolls out in Pennsylvania.
Education: BetRivers offers bettors some basic education on how to read odds, bet on sports, place a bet, etc. The education will help first-time bettors, without making them feel they’re in over their heads.
Reputation: Rush Street Gaming, the parent company of BetRivers/SugarHouse, is privately held and owns and operates multiple casinos. The technology for the sportsbook is powered by Kambi, which is one of the largest providers of sportsbooks in Europe. SugarHouse is partnered with the Golden Nugget Casino in New Jersey and SugarHouse and BetRivers Casinos in Pennsylvania, which are regulated by the state.
Promotions: While I typically don’t comment on promotions, the intro to sports betting promo listed when this review was conducted is exceptional. A 1X rollover for a 100% match is a rarity and bettors should take advantage of it.
Sports betting bonuses are eligible on bets that have odds of -200 or higher.
Although BetRivers is new to sports betting, it has exceeded expectations with its initial offering. The interface is smooth, there are plenty of game props and bets to keep fans energetic, and the cash-out feature is an industry driver. The 100% first deposit bonus with a 1X rollover is also one of a kind. If customers don’t mind the lower than average odds, they should seriously consider making BetRivers their go-to app for sports betting.
Note: As of May 2019, the BetRivers app and web platform are also available to residents of Pennsylvania.
BetRivers/SugarHouse is a part of Rush Street Interactive, which owns and operates casinos in Pennsylvania, New York, and Illinois. Rush Street was formed in the mid-1990s and has since built a portfolio of casinos, restaurant, hotels, and more. SugarHouse was licensed to offer its online platform to New Jersey and Pennsylvania residents via the Golden Nugget casino, as well as the SugarHouse Casino.
The online and mobile versions of the sportsbook are powered by Kambi, an online gaming provider that currently serves 22 online sportsbooks and casinos, including DraftKings and 888 Sports.
